30 Additional Artists Announced for Mile 9!

NEWS RELEASE

Organizers for Mile of Music Festival have announced the next 30 artists of the 2022 lineup. This year’s festival – Mile 9 – is set to take place August 4-7 in Downtown Appleton.

Willems Marketing & Events, which created and has produced the free, multi-venue, all-original music festival since its inception in 2013, announced plans for the return of the ninth annual festival on April 26.

This third grouping of artists brings the total number of announced acts to 130. Organizers expect to have 200 artists, including educators for the festival’s Music Education Team. Today’s announcement consists of 8 acts that will be playing at the festival for the first time and 22 returning acts. In keeping with the recent Miles, the artists are coming from all corners of the country, with the announced lineup currently representing 20 states as well as the United Kingdom and Canada.

Fans can expect several additional artist announcements throughout the rest of May and into June. Organizers have noted that nearly 40 percent of the full lineup will have Wisconsin ties. Mile of Music is one of the more unique large music festivals in the country for many reasons, but two of the most important are that the event shines the spotlight on and celebrates indie music artists who are not household names (but could be) while also being free to music fans. In the true spirit of community, this allows attendees to easily access and discover new artists and make life-long connections.

In all, Mile 9 is expected to host 700 live music sets over the four-day schedule with more than 200 artists and music education presenters sharing their talents and teachings.

In the coming weeks, Mile of Music will also highlight their community sponsors, collaborators and partners who come together to make this special event possible. Organizers also plan to launch their volunteer sign-up platform prior to Memorial Day, and are currently recruiting volunteer groups from within the community.

Here are the 30 artists announced by Mile of Music today (May 16), along with their home communities:

Any idea about j-council? I asked last year also. Can’t figure out the status of these guys.

    • Mile of Music Festival says:

Hi Shawn! Thanks for asking. J-Council is great! The band is currently on hiatus.
