Mile of Music artists will raise a glass — and lay down a few licks — in tribute of the Rolling Stones in August.
“54911/The Mile Jam — A Songwriter Salute to the Rolling Stones” will go down Aug. 6 at the grand ballroom inside the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel as a special event for the festival’s opening day. Last year a collection of musicians assembled to pay tribute to Tom Petty.
Performers for the show, tentatively schedule for 10 p.m., include festival co-founder Cory Chisel, Adriel Denae, Greg Waters, Jon Wheelock, Bill Grasley, Mike Underwood and Alex Drossart. A number of musicians from other Mile 3 acts will be added as the festival nears.
It’s the only non-original music showcase during the Aug. 6-9 festival and is exclusive to holders of music-maker subscriptions and badges. The music-maker options are designed as a way for the community to support the festival and pick up a few perks — like the Mile of Music tribute jam — along the way.
AWESOME, Looking forward to this salute!! & The whole Festival. I am a music-maker subscriber first time this year so #3 is going to be the best I am Super Excited
