Concerts in the Courtyard, presented by Bayland Buildings, Inc. kicks off its third summer at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel Courtyard beginning Wednesday, May 31 with Nell Robinson & Jim Nunally Band from San Francisco, along with popular local duo Kyle Megna & Ross Catterton as the showcase opener.
The weekly series showcases top up-and-coming bands and singer-songwriters from music hotbeds throughout the country, with local and regional artists blended in. The music is FREE and starts early, offering an early-evening music choice for downtown workers and local music fans. The Courtyard opens for seating at 5 p.m. and the music starts by 5:30, ending shortly after 7 p.m.
Concerts in the Courtyard is produced by Mile of Music and the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel as an extension of the popular annual original music festival held in August. Like the festival, the Wednesday series showcases top up-and-coming bands from music hotbeds throughout the country, accented by local and regional artists for certain shows. In the event of inclement weather, the music moves inside the hotel.
Bayland Buildings, Inc. returns as presenting sponsor for the 14-show series. “We are happy to help present such great music and original artistry in such a neat venue,” said Dean Hunt, Bayland Buildings’ director of business development and marketing. “The specialness of this series fits really well with Bayland’s efforts to enrich the communities where our employees work and live by giving back.”
The lineup for the first month of the series has already been released and includes: May 31: Nell Robinson & Jim Nunally Band (San Francisco, CA) w/opening act Kyle Megna & Ross Catterton (Fox Cities); June 7: Air Traffic Controller (Boston, MA) w/opening act Seasaw (Madison, WI); June 14: JAKUBI (Melbourne, Australia); June 21: Kristin Diable (New Orleans, LA); June 28: Sarah Shook & The Disarmers (Chapel Hill, NC).
