January was a long month with all the snow and sub-zero temperatures that rolled in to Appleton, but we’ve found a way to heat things up and say hello to February … we’re welcoming SIX amazing acts to Rhythms & Brews during our four shows this month and each one is just as exciting as the next! Get a sneak peek of the artists who are playing and mark your Wednesday nights as “booked” for the next several weeks so you can come and enjoy the music!
The Nunnery, February 6
Fun Fact: You’ll often see The Nunnery’s Sarah Elstran sitting on the floor as she performs her one-of-a-kind music with a soothing, choir-like feel to it. Why the view from the ground? It’s so she can multi-task with her two favorite accessories: a microphone and a looping station!
(Minneapolis-based Gabriel Jorgensen of Dreamspook will open the show.)
Listen in to Under Mission.
The Talbott Brothers, February 13
Fun Fact: This duo’s catchy tunes seem to be everywhere lately as Nick and Tyler Talbott make stops on their U.S. tour, but you might have already “seen” them without even realizing it. The brothers’ hit song “Little Love” has been part of popular retailer Buckle’s nationwide promotions.
Listen in to Little Love.
Freddy & Francine, February 20
Fun Fact: After harmonizing together for several years and then splitting up for a few, Freddy (Lee Ferris) spent time on the Broadway circuit and Francine (Bianca Caruso) did some work on a TV pilot. They both came to the same realization: they’re happiest when making their own music together and sharing it with fans!
(Brennan Mackey of King Cardinal will be here from Denver to kick off the music.)
Listen in to South of My Love.
Olivia Millerschin, February 27
Fun Fact: She started playing piano at age five, began studying opera and classical music at seven, tried the guitar at 10 and took to ukulele at 12. With all of this musical exposure, it should come as no surprise that Olivia Millerschin had a song featured in a major motion picture – “A Girl Like Her” – before she turned 20.
Listen in to Ellie.
