If you didn’t see The Trongone Band at Mile 6 or haven’t discovered them since then, this is one band you’ll definitely want to add to your list of “who’s who” in music!
And good (no, make that GREAT) news: you can see them in person when they roll into Appleton – joined by local folk rockers Christopher Gold and the New Old Things – for the Live! at the OuterEdge showcase this Saturday, March 16.
The band is made up of four members — Andrew Trongone (guitar/vocals), Johnny Trongone (drums/vocals), Ben “Wolfe” White (keys/vocals) and Chip Hale (bass/vocals). Their story started when brothers Andrew and Johnny would play cover songs with dad, John Sr., at a local bar in Richmond, Virginia. When the idea of forming a full band came into discussion, Ben was recruited by the brothers on keys and Chip later joined on bass. Fast forward to today and the four have much more than good hair in common (seriously, just look at those locks!). They bring an amazing chemistry and sound to the stage and the guys are just a really likeable, down-to-earth bunch. (Our favorite!)
While the guys are appreciative of their Richmond roots and places like the city’s Cary Street Cafe for such a solid start, their music is taking them in many exciting new directions these days. They’ve performed everywhere from the Allman Brothers’ Peach Music Festival in Pennsylvania to an ancient monastery in Orvieto, Italy, as part of their 2018 European tour.
With their 2019 tour now in full swing, don’t miss The Trongone Band’s return to Appleton on March 16 for Live! at the OuterEdge … it’s sure to be a rockin’ good time!
