Postponed: November 17 Rhythms & Brews
Posted Nov 15, 2021
We are here with a bummer of an update. For this week only (Nov. 17), we will not be holding a Rhythms & Brews event. The Gibson Community Music Hall Team has received word of a breakthrough COVID case within its beloved staff & will be taking a short wellness break. Please read the full statement from Gibson below.
Here’s the message from Gibson Community Music Hall:
“Hey Music Community…as you know, our staff is very small as we gradually reopen Gibson Community Music Hall. On Sunday, we have had a breakthrough positive COVID case and a second member of our beloved staff showing potential symptoms with a test today (which came back negative). That is, actually, half of our show staff. Thankfully, those folks are experiencing rather mild symptoms and we’ve seen negative test results from the remaining crew. As other responsible music venues have done when facing the same dilemma during this cautious, “yellow light” time, we believe it’s appropriate to pause operations for a short wellness break. We’re going to postpone shows scheduled for this coming week and work to bring those artists back at another date, hopefully sooner than later. Though we will not have the four scheduled shows for this week (Wednesday’s Rhythms & Brews from Mile of Music Presents, Thursday’s co-bill, Friday’s rock show, or Saturday’s return of Ponce), we expect (hope!) to be back for Wednesday, Nov. 24 Rhythms & Brews with David Paul Martin and Laura Jean Bomber in our all-seated, all-listening show format, followed by that Saturday’s (11/27) “Listen Local Showcase” to support the shop local effort downtown, with that show featuring Kurt Gunn, Genevieve Heyward and Ross Catterton all on one outstanding bill.
We’ll reopen as soon as we are 100% confident we’re all in the clear. With artists traveling both in and out of Appleton to engage with our close-knit music community, we want to ensure the health of our team and the safety of artists and patrons to the best of our ability and based on the latest information for protocol from our local health officials and the CDC.”
Thank you for your understanding…and stay tuned for details.
