6:42pm: UPDATE: All outdoor stages are closing due to lightning in the area
2:09pm:
Hello, Milers. Unfortunately, though the weather may seem better now, our very dedicated and astute weather advisors for Mile of Music are telling us not to be fooled. Everything they are looking at is showing thunderstorm activity in the Fox Cities and Appleton vicinity between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. For the sake and safety of our festival-goers, our artists, our sound techs and their equipment, we are officially calling off music at the three main stages for tonight: Jones Park, Houdini Plaza and Lawrence Lawn. Some of those shows will be moved inside yet today and tonight…please watch your schedule via the app for those rescheduled sets. We will continue to monitor the timing of this rain and potential storms and how it will affect the mid-sized outdoors stages. Some of them may start up with music, but have to discontinue when the rains come. Again, please watch the app, the website and our social channels for weather updates.
We’re sorry to have to do this, but the threat for heavy rain and lightning is high enough to push the music indoors for these main venues and we’ll update you on the others as the afternoon progresses.
