Auralai is a female-driven duo fronted by Stephanie Tschech and her beloved cello, Cranky Agnes. Stephanie's partnership with Nate Lehner is the second incarnation of “Auralai.” Lehner is a multi-instrumentalist, providing depth, texture and whimsy to all songs and collaborative efforts within the duo. Auralai released their first self-titled album in 2015, only months after forming. Their second album, "Songs for Dogs (that sleep on beds)," was released in summer 2016. Auralai has shared the stage with Steve Earl, Shawn Colvin and Cory Chisel. The duo combines the best of classical beauty with pop-esque rhythm and melody. Stephanie's abstract but vivid lyrics, and complex yet catchy rhythms and melodies make for an ethereal mood … one that is sometimes haunting and sometimes hilarious, but always fiercely engaging. No slave to both conventional songwriting and classical cello form, Auralai brings a much-needed breath of fresh indie-pop music that is nothing short of captivating.
