Raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains of South Carolina, Americana singer/songwriter Sam Burchfield was brought up on his Dad’s music: Willie, Merle, Hank and Cash. For Sam, it’s always been about the songs. “With a good song, it doesn’t matter what style you play it in,” Burchfield claims, “So I’ve just focused on writing good songs.” Jumping over the state line to settle in Jasper, Georgia, gateway to the Appalachian Trail, Burchfield’s songs beautifully reflect the landscape that raised him while organically carrying the holy tradition of songwriting forward. Sam returns to the Mile for this first time with his band of 'Scoundrels'.
