A little town in the Florida panhandle may be the only true home to Southern songstress Tanya Gallagher, but her music spans the continent from the coastal plains of the Gulf of Mexico into the far reaches of British Columbia. Born and raised near the Florida-Alabama line, she spent her formative years along the Gulf Coast studying environmental science and working odd jobs whilst fine-tuning her song-writing skills. In 2013, after releasing her first solo album, “Oh My Love,” Gallagher uprooted and resettled in Vancouver, BC, to pursue a PhD in landscape ecology. In 2016, she released her second solo record, “Virginia,” which the Huffington Post called a “reflective and sentimental album” comparing it to Brandi Carlile and Bon Iver. Gallagher is currently working with producer Daniel Mendez (Noah Gundersen, The Native Sibling, Alexi Murdoch) on a full-length record, "One Hand on My Heart the Other Covering My Eyes," scheduled for release in summer 2019.
