Mile of Music Presents Announces: New Year’s Encore Weekend

Thursday, Dec. 28 through Sunday, Dec. 31

4 Showcases – One Great Music Space

Help us celebrate the new year and the culmination of our MILESTONE year a little early – and more than once – with New Year’s Encore Weekend! Mile of Music Presents will offer four showcases at Gibson Community Music Hall leading up to the new year, featuring good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll, blues, bluegrass and string, singer-songwriters and more! Music-Makers and other Mile fans can choose from four different celebration showcases during the weekend at Gibson as we all ring in the new year and a new decade for Mile of Music.

This year’s concert showcases will feature a couple of Mile of Music festival favorites from Mile 10 plus a number of festival alums coming together to offer a variety of music styles as we wrap up 2023 in calendar-flippin’ style. We’re just about ready to announce the lineup of shows but wanted to get a heads-up your way to mark the dates. Join us Thursday, December 28 through Sunday, December 31 at one (or all) of these events!

  • December 28 – Kyle Megna & The Monsoons (and friends) Ring in the New Year: You might call it “the perfect storm” as The Monsoons help Mile ring in the new year. It’ll be a lot of old and a bit of new as the band plays from its song library of brassed-up rock, funk and R&B on the main stage – and we’ll fill the time in between sets with music from the front stage as friends of the band jump in to complete the musical menu. (In other words, there won’t be a dull moment as music comes at ya from both stages!) MORE INFO & TICKETS.
  • December 29 – Mile 10 Encore: It’s a Mile 10 encore as we welcome Patty PerShayla and the Mayhaps, Nathan Graham (band) and Chris Haise Band to Gibson for a rockin’ night of music. MORE INFO & TICKETS.
  • December 30 – Bluegrass Buddies Blender: The Bluegrass Buddies Blender is a new take on a festival that focuses on the musicians, not only their bands. It’s an artist community-based experience that blends the pickin’ skills of talent from different bands, much like you’d find in the wee hours of the morning around a campfire at your favorite Wisconsin bluegrass festival. MORE INFO & TICKETS.
  • December 31 (NYE Matinee): This all-seated, all-listening cavalcade of troubadours will offer a full-afternoon story and song vibe with a “First Songs” flavor, as some of our top local singer-songwriters each perform a few songs as part of the first-ever New Year’s Encore Weekend matinee. Joining us will be 7000apart, Jonathan Fries (of ADAMAH), Amelia Ford, Eric W. Krueger & The Sheesh (full band unplugged), David Paul Martin, TAE and Christopher Gold. MORE INFO & TICKETS.

Each show will also feature some of the New Year’s Encore Eve favorites such as sweet treats, the Wheel of Prizes with dozens of cool door prizes, party favors, and more! Each show will also have a ticket discount opportunity for Mile’s Music-Makers subscribers & 2023 Volunteers.

Though our New Year’s encore shows always serve as a celebration of the previous fests, this year’s weekend of shows also supports the next Mile as a portion of the proceeds will be put toward the Mile 11 Artist Fund through Appleton Community Music, Inc., the 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports the future sustainability of the Mile of Music festival and the original music movement in Appleton.

This year, all New Year’s Encore Weekend shows are age 21+.

Artists are subject to change/substitution.
