MILE OF MUSIC ORGANIZERS ANNOUNCE 30 ADDITIONAL ARTISTS FOR AUGUST FESTIVAL
Organizers for Mile of Music Festival have announced the next 30 artists of the 2022 lineup on May 26, 2022. This year’s festival – Mile 9 – is set to take place August 4-7 in Downtown Appleton.
This fourth grouping of artists brings the total number of announced acts to 160. Organizers expect to have 200 artists, including educators for the festival’s Music Education Team. Today’s announcement consists of 9 acts that will be playing at the festival for the first time and 21 returning acts.
Fans can expect a few additional artist announcement as we enter the month of June. Organizers have noted that nearly 35-40 percent of the full lineup will have Wisconsin ties. Mile of Music is one of the more unique large music festivals in the country for many reasons, but two of the most important are that the event shines the spotlight on and celebrates indie music artists who are not household names (but could be) while also being free to music fans. In the true spirit of community, this allows attendees to easily access and discover new artists and make life-long connections.
In all, Mile 9 is expected to host 700 live music sets over the four-day schedule with more than 200 artists and music education presenters sharing their talents and teachings.
In the coming weeks, Mile of Music will also highlight their community sponsors, collaborators and partners who come together to make this special event possible. Organizers are currently recruiting volunteer groups from within the community, and will launch their individual volunteer sign-up soon.
Here are the 30 artists announced by Mile of Music today (May 26), along with their home communities:

Mile of Music organizers are preparing for the largest attendance to date for the event – and estimate the Mile 9 spending impact could exceed $5 million for the week of the festival in August.
