Looking Ahead to Mile 4!

Posted Feb 8, 2016
Blog

We recently discussed what we’ve been up to since the end of Mile 3. Now’s the time to talk about some of the things we have to look forward to in the next six months leading up to Mile 4…besides the warm weather!

1. The GRAMMYs

The 50th Annual GRAMMYs take place at the Staples Center in LA on February 15th. Co-founder Cory Chisel is nominated in the “Best American Roots Song” category for ‘The Traveling Kind’ with Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. No matter the outcome, we are very proud of our deserving nominee!

2. Mile 4 Official Launch

Though we are planning all year long, we officially kick things off each year in mid-April. This year will be no different! Stay tuned to our social media for more information closer to the event.

3. Concerts in the Courtyard

Starting the week after Memorial Day, Mile of Music Productions is bringing artists back to the Radisson Paper Valley Courtyard for an “after-work” gig to get you through the week. These are artists you may see again at Mile 4, or musicians that are passing through. The lineup for this series will be announced in the spring, so stay tuned to the Mile of Music Productions website and social media for details!

4. 2016 Music-Makers Exclusive Shows

All of our music during the festival is free, but Music-Makers have access to extra music during the festival and throughout the year. 2016 Music-Makers: Stay tuned for exclusive shows and early-bird ticket deals for public shows this spring and early summer!

5. Cory Chisel bobblehead day with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Play ball! In addition to being a musician and festival co-founder, did you know that Cory is a huge baseball fan? The first 1,000 fans at the game on Sunday, June 26 will receive a special edition Cory Chisel bobblehead! For game day information, click here!

6. Bringing more music to your ears!

Stay tuned to our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and also Mile of Music Productions for information on upcoming shows! We are working hard to keep the music coming to you and Downtown Appleton!

Please have The Suitcase Junket back 🙂

  • Drew ahlborg says:

You should close the streets down on the west end of college ave and add more bigger stages for bands. Last year saturday and friday night , people were walking in the streets because the side walks were full. Lots of people waiting in lines.

    • Hi Drew! Thanks for your feedback. It has always been our goal to attract folks into our downtown businesses while also accommodating large crowds. We are always looking for ways to evolve and do take these things into consideration. Thanks!
