BACK FOR 2018: Concerts in the Courtyard

Posted May 23, 2018

Mile of Music Presents: Concerts in the Courtyard, sponsored by Bayland Buildings, Inc. kicks off its fourth summer of music in the courtyard of the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley beginning Wednesday, May 30 with local favorites Feed the Dog, along with Kaukauna bluegrass band The Monsters of Grass as the showcase opener. Concerts in the Courtyard is produced by Mile of Music Presents and the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley as an extension of the popular annual original music festival held each August in Downtown Appleton. The Courtyard’s media partner is WHBY Radio.

The weekly series showcases top up-and-coming bands and singer-songwriters from music hotbeds throughout the country, with local and regional artists blended in. The music is FREE for all-ages and starts early, offering an early-evening music choice for downtown workers and local music fans. The Courtyard opens for seating every Wednesday at 5 p.m. and the music begins at 5:30 p.m., ending shortly after 7 p.m.

Bayland Buildings, Inc. returns as sponsor for the 13-show series. “We are happy to support such great music and original artistry in such a neat venue,” said Dean Hunt, Bayland Buildings’ Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “The specialness of this series fits really well with Bayland’s efforts to enrich the communities where our employees work and live by giving back.”

The lineup for the entire series has already been released and includes: May 30: Feed the Dog (Appleton, WI); June 6: Animal Years (Brooklyn, NY); June 13: M.T. Foyer (Minneapolis, MN); June 20: TABAH (Minneapolis, MN); June 27: The Dip (Seattle, WA); July 11: Jesse Ray and the Carolina Catfish (Grand Rapids, MI); July 18: Porky’s Groove Machine (Minneapolis, MN); July 25: Seth Anderson (Canmore, Alberta, Canada); August 1: Caleb Hawley (New York, NY); August 8: Bailey Dee (Chicago, IL); August 15: Keith Pulvermacher (Oconomowoc, WI); August 22: Super Doppler (Norfolk, VA); August 29: Kyle Megna & The Monsoons (Fox Cities, WI).
