Mile of Music co-founders Cory Chisel and Dave Willems accepted two phenomenal festival boosting grants from the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau (FCCVB) and the Wisconsin Department of Tourism today during the Lunchtime Live concert series in Houdini Plaza. The two grants, The Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, and the WOW grant from the FCCVB amount to nearly $90,000!
Thanks to the marketing efforts made possible by these two grants, potential visitors are being reached in a variety of ways. WOW grant funding is focused on wowing the community through promos, customer service, and culture, whereas the JEM grant focuses on getting the word out about the festival into bigger markets through print, radio, and online advertising.
New efforts this year include a Mile of Music ad featured on Pandora in the Madison and Milwaukee areas, gaining lots of exposure with nearly 1.5 million guaranteed impressions. Publicity has also gained traction in the hometowns and surrounding areas of the artists traveling to Wisconsin from over 20 states and parts of Canada.
The 40,000+ visitors expected August 6th-9th for Mile 3 can prepare for an exciting array of 60+ Appleton venues offering 800 performances from 200 artists, with most performances free of charge. Surrounding hotels, attractions, and parks on the mile boast authentic, unique flavors of Appleton as well.
All roads lead to one great Mile of Music thanks to the FCCVB and Travel Wisconsin.com!
