Of the 200-plus artists performing at Mile of Music this weekend, did you know that 65 of them call Wisconsin home? That’s a lot of big voices and talented instrumentalists working to further their music careers right within our neighboring communities.
To celebrate this talent, Neenah-based Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group, a true Wisconsin original since 1913, has stepped up to support these artists at Mile 6. With the newly created Showcasing Wisconsin sponsorship, the organization will help highlight the talents of the full bands, trios, duos and solo acts that are coming from all corners of the state to play in Downtown Appleton.
Dave Willems, Mile of Music’s executive director and co-founder, shared that 300 of the 900 live sets performed this weekend will be from Wisconsin artists. He said Wisconsin acts are often grouped back to back across The Mile footprint as a way to share this growing wealth of original music artistry from our home state artists. On top of that, there was a special “Wisconsin Medley” of sets featured on Friday at OB’s Brau Haus.
A special thank you goes out to Jewelers Mutual for supporting these Wisconsin artists! Check out some of these acts when you visit The Mile:
