Mile 7 Artist Announcement #6

All in all, 221 Acts to be Part of the Music-Making in Downtown Appleton August 1-4!

Mile of Music, presented by Fox Communities Credit Union, has announced the final round of artists set to appear at the original music festival when it returns in just over a month. This group of 20 includes a mix of both Mile alumni and newcomers as the number of acts coming to Downtown Appleton totals 221.

• The latest announcement features 17 Wisconsin-based acts.
• Dan Rodriguez (Minneapolis, MN) will also be back and he’ll again host an In-The-Round session that showcases festival artists in an intimate story and song format. Another act with roots in Minneapolis, the energetic and entertaining Porky’s Groove Machine made up of Lawrence University graduates is also among the Mile 7 roster.
• If you saw Brennan Mackey solo at Rhythms & Brews this winter, you’ll want to catch his band, King Cardinal, coming to Appleton from Denver for their first Mile appearance.
• SistaStrings joins us from Milwaukee! They’re a unique duo of “singing and stringing” sisters. AWESOME!

The Mile organizing team is finalizing the full schedule for August 1-4 and we’ll also sharing details of nearly 50 hands-on activities from the Music Education Team with interactive seminars again planned for all ages and abilities.

Artists will appear at 60 indoor and outdoor stages throughout Downtown Appleton. Jones Park will re-open this summer with a main stage for Friday and Saturday shows after undergoing major renovations the last two years.
